Competitor Site Analysis

Competitor Site Analysis is the process of breaking down a competing site into its essential components to determine what makes that site appear in the top ten for a specific keyphrase. There are over 30 measurements that can be taken about competing sites including:

  • Number of words on the page
  • Density of keyphrase compared to total text
  • Number of outbound links
  • Number and quality of inbound links
  • Age of domain
These all factor into how a search engine ranks a competitor's site for a specific keyphrase. With this analysis, we can determine exact amount of text to put on a page, the number of links needed, the position and frequency of keyphrases on the page and more. Making these changes can dramatically increase the chances of a site being listed in a top search engine position.
