Creating a Certified Provider Program for a Large International Healthcare Association
The Challenge
An international healthcare association with 3,500 members worldwide already using our ConferenceBrain platform for attendee registration and membership dues collection wanted to launch a certified provider program.
The program needed to track members through a series of training, mentorship, community engagement and testing activities in the process of becoming listed in a public directory of certified providers.
The Solution
After collaboratively creating a written specification, the development team set to work creating the new feature for the ConferenceBrain platform. The work included an intuitive user certification portal where qualified members upload required information and easily track their certification progress.
On the administrative side, an application review system allows staff to easily verify and approve applicant submissions. A certification versioning feature enables new certification levels to be created as testing information is updated. Automated emails remind certified members of ongoing CME requirements.
The conference configuration interface allows event category and point values for each learning event. System logic automatically calculates point totals for each category and notifies members when they are eligible for testing based on total hours and type of training.
The Results
The new certification system was successfully launched within six weeks, leading to increased attendee registration for required training events. Stakeholders and users reported great satisfaction with the ease of use and automated features estimating a 40% reduction in time required to run the certification program manually. The public directory of certified providers is a valuable resource often shared within the targeted patient population.
